Are you looking for tips on how to sell to the military?
If you answer “yes” to either of these questions, then you ought to plan to attend our classes planned for Thursday, August 25, 2011 at the Albany Microbusiness Enterprise Center.
Starting at 10:00 am, we’ll be talking about “Subcontracting with Large Prime Contractors.” You’ll learn that many prime contractors continuously seek good small business suppliers to meet their needs and satisfy the requirements of their government subcontracting plans. Then, from noon until 2:00 pm, we’ll be talking about ”Selling to the Military.” This seminar will acquaint attendees with the basic principles that they must know in order to do business with the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines or DLA. The 7 phases of government procurement will be reviewed. Additional topics include the DFARS, simplified acquisition thresholds, use of military forecasts, doing business with the Army’s Corps of Engineers, DLA’s Procurement Gateway, DoD’s e-Mall, how to find military specs and standards, and much, much more. Don’t miss this: Small business orientations and speed partnering to be held July 20th

To acquaint Albany-area businesses with both Dougherty County’s and the City of Albany’s small business programs, Georgia Tech is holding orientation sessions on July 20, 2011. An explanation will be provided of the local government programs, the benefits of participating, and how to enroll.
The orientations will be followed by instruction on how to market to local governments and present their capabilities Dougherty County and Albany officials.
In addition, City and County officials will be on hand to share information about contracting opportunities and meet with area businesses.
Check-in and coffee begins at 9:30 am; the program begins at 10:00. Informal networking opportunities begin at noon with a light lunch.
