City announces purchase of janitorial supplies and window and door replacement project

Construction opportunity announced: Multipurpose Senior Activity Center and Agency Offices

On behalf of the SOWEGA Council on Aging, General Contractor Statements of Qualifications will be received until 5:00 p.m. March 30, 2012, at the office of Yielding Wakeford & McGee Architects, P.C., 116 Roosevelt Ave., Albany, Georgia 31702 for the construction of the Multipurpose Senior Activity Center and Agency Offices.
This $5.9 million project will renovate an existing three-story building and construct a two-story addition.
When completed the project will total approximate 32,000 gross square feet.
This announcement is for prequalification of general contractors only.
A pre-submittal conference will be held on March 8, 2012 at 9:00am at SOWEGA offices at 1105 Palmyra Albany, GA 31701. The architects will be on site to answer questions. All interested general contractors are strongly encourged to attend.

The Code Enforcement Department of the City of Albany is contracting for the demolition of 29 structures within the City. These are court-ordered demolitions.
Sealed bids will be received by the City of Albany, Procurement Division, 222 Pine Avenue, Suite 260, Albany, Georgia until 2:30 p.m., March 7, 2012 for work required to demolish 29 structures, in accordance with Bid Documents, Specifications, and Industry Standards.
A pre-bid conference will be held at 10:00 a.m. on February 28, 2012 in the Procurement Division Conference Room, 222 Pine Avenue, Suite 260, Albany, Georgia 31701. City Staff will provide a brief overview of the bid documents during this meeting and review the scope of work. Contractors will be allowed to ask questions. All interested contractors are strongly encouraged to attend.
The City of Albany strongly encourages Small Business firms to participate in this bid.
The addresses listed below have been divided into six (6) individual projects. Contractors can bid on one, any combination, or all projects.
